Medical and educational programs
The WOŚP Foundation runs four medical programs and an educational one. If you would like to learn more, click on one of the links below:
# Universal Neonatal Hearing Screenings Program– The program’s goal is to test the hearing of newborns in neonatology wards. The free-of-charge screening helps to diagnose whether the little patients’ hearing is developing on a normal basis or not.
# Retinopathy of Prematurity Prevention and Treatment Program – diagnosis and treatment of children whose retina has been damaged due to premature birth.
# The “Infant Flow” Non-invasive Breathing Sustention in Neonates Program – The program’s goal is to lower the number cases in which mechanical ventilation of premature babies and newborns is needed, because mechanical ventilation often leads to severe pulmonary complications. What we offer instead is a modern and non-invasive method, which does not require for the infant to be intubated: the “Infant Flow”.
# Personal Insulin Pumps in Diabetic Children Therapy Program – within the scope of this program WOŚP purchases insulin pumps which give children and pregnant women a chance for a simpler and more active life despite diabetes.
# CPR for Schools Educational Program – The program is aimed at providing teachers of elementary schools with first aid training, enabling them to pass what they have learned on to their students. We also provide schools with necessary teaching aids such as manikins, textbooks and DVDs.
