There are over 100 instructors teaching in the CPR for Schools Program. They split into two groups; North and South. They drive two specially designed buses, which we got from main sponsors and each week they go to different places in Poland. Each week they teach 6 classes to six groups of teachers (there are from 30 up to 40 people in each). All together, they provide weekly classes for around 180 teachers from 90 schools.
Group "NORTH"
Trains in districts: Pomorskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Podlaskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Mazowieckie, Świętokrzyskie, Lubelskie, and Łódzkie. Warsaw is the base - town.Group’s leader is Maksym Wojcieszek (Max). He has volunteered as a Peace Patroler and rescuer for many years. He has long experience in teaching CPR courses in Szadowo-Mill and in Woodstock CPR School. During Woodstock, Max was also securing held shifts in field-hospital.
He has 43 instructors under him. Each week he travels with the group of 5 people.
Group "SOUTH"
Trains in districts: Dolnośląskie, Lubuskie, Zachodnio-Pomorskie, Opolskie, Śląskie, Małopolskie, Podkarpackie and Wielkopolskie. Wrocław is the base town. The leader of the Southern group is Katarzyna Grzelak (Andy). She has volunteered as a Peace Patroller since 2003. She is one of the members of a team securing Woodstock Festival. There are 52 instructors in her group. Each week 5 of them travels with Andy.
All the instructors who teach in CPR for Schools program completed courses taught by the the American Heart Association instructors from the US. During three days long training, Peace Patrollers completed advanced CPR course, which reviewed their knowledge and workshops on how to be a good teacher. At the end, everybody took an exam. Those who passed became certified AHA instructors. |
